Nichole Donje'
20 years ago Nichole took the first steps in her career as a terrified freshman who cluelessly walked into an improvisation audition ready to change her life. Failing horribly as an improviser, the stage manager took her on as an assistant and Nichole never turned back.

Pursuing a degree in technical theatre she began to explore and discover the wonders of theatre from every angle; as a set and lighting designer, a stage manager and then director where she found a niche. In her junior year Nichole discovered dance and the layers of fear to be on the stage began thin. It was after graduation she discovered her passion as an actress which led her to NYC.

Since coming to NYC Nichole has performed on stage in film and as a director. In 2006 she took an agent’s words to heart “…don’t wait for me, do it yourself…” and that how TAPT began. Since then TAPT has built a reputation for quality, professionalism and community. Her extensive background has given her the foundation for not only creating an ensemble, but building a production. The greatest asset she’s obtained is patience, and that patience is paying off!

The company’s first NYC Showcase (done in partnership with Free2BU Productions, and now Assoc. Artistic Director S. Brian Jones) of its Short Cutz one act series, Short Cutz (ACT 1) - Exploring Extremes played to a SOLD OUT house every night! This followed the successful NEA Big Read RI finale production entitled Voices: In Search of Truth where she leveraged TAPT and took 8 talented people from NYC to perform to a wonderful crowd in Providence, RI at the URI Feinstein Campus’ Paff Auditorium (Nichole served as Director & Producer of “Voices” as well as key consultant on the Big Read RI project consisting of over 25 public events).

With TAPT she recently produced a very successful first season of their Staged Reading Series, featuring the original works of amazing writers such as Pamela Yaco, Vanda, Bill McMahon, S.Brian Jones and Che' Dortch. And is now promoting their second season, with the first 2012 reading in April.

Nichole is a founding member and currently works with the Playwright’s Continuum as an actress, director and consultant where she consistently discovers amazing talent; including 4 of the 6 writers in the TAPT reading series this season. And is a proud member of the esteemed Players on Gramercy Park serving as Co-Chair of the Admissions Committee.

I have worked with Nichole for the last 13 years as an actress, director, teaching artist, designer and photographer on various projects...My opinion of her is such that I hire her to come from New York to Rhode Island to collaborate in these programs and projects. Nichole is very innovative, inventive, dependable, dedicated, knowledgeable, articulate and industrious. She puts people at ease and works well with all types of people in all types of situations. I recommend her very highly!
